IMPORTANCE OF RECITATION & LEARNING QUR'AN

•  Narrated Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased withhim):  The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The most superior  among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." [Sahih Bukhari (Book #61, Hadith #546)

• The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "He who does not recite the Qur'an in a pleasant tone is not of us." 
  [Sunan Abu Dawud]

• Rewards for reciting the Qur'an: The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Meem is a letter."

• The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "Allah does not listen so attentively to anything as He listens to the recitation of the Qur'an by a Prophet who recites well with a melodious and audible voice." 
  [Sahih Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

WHY TAJAWEED IS IMPORTANT FOR RECITATION & LEARNING OF QUR'AN

• Every alphabet has different way of pronunciation.

• Example the letter (alphabet) QAAF & KAAF, with QAAF you read (QALB) means heart, if one read this with KAAF (KALB) means dog, so Tajweed matters a lot while recitation and memorization of Qur'an, in the same way (SEEN) (SAA) (SAAD) can written with same pronunciation in english however in ARABIC pronunciation is not the same, which most muslim do mistake here, Ulamah (scholars) speaks that without Tajweed recitation of Qur'an even in SALAAH is not appreciable, so everyone of us need to get good knowledge and practice of Tajweed for recitation of Quran as it is obligatory (compulsory)

• Arabic letters each have a Makhraj - an exit or articulation point - in the mouth or throat from which they originate and they also each have Sifaat - attributes, or characteristics - particular to them.

• Knowing the Makhraj and Sifaat of each letter is an important part of Tajweed. Sometimes two letters have very similar exits which makes mixing them up easy. 

• So if a person does not know the attributes of each letter there is a danger that he will change the meaning of the words in Qur'an recitation. 

• Observing the rules of Tajweed in reciting protects the reciter from making mistakes in reciting the Qur'an.

• NOTE: In Shaa Allaah from now everyone of us will try to Read and follow Qur'an, may Allaah guide us to Achieve good knowledge for recitation of Qur'an (Aameen)
